Areas of Competition

Presentation and Community Achievement in Private Interview (25%):

Each contestant will participate in a 10 minute conversation with the panel of judges.  After 9 minutes and 30 seconds of questions and answers with the judges, and the interview will conclude with 30 seconds for the contestant to make final remarks.

Artistic Expression in Talent (35%):

Each contestant will have two minutes to perform the talent presentation of her choice. Each contestant will perform individually on stage. Props are allowed but should be kept to a minimum.  Regardless of the talent performed, the background tape cannot have voices, instruments, or other noises which mimic the talent of the contestant.  (Example: A vocalist may have background vocals with "oohs and aahs" or other background lyrics, but cannot have a tape with a voice singing the melody line for the contestant to sing along with.  The same would be said for instrumentalists, dancers, and any other talent which could provide for an unfair advantage if a judge could not delineate from the talent on the track versus the live performance of the contestant.)

Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit (15%):

Each contestant will appear on stage in the swimsuit of her choice. Swimsuits may be one- or two-piece,any color or pattern and must be in good taste. Shoes must be worn with swimsuits.

Presentation and Poise in Evening Wear (20%):

Each contestant will appear on stage in the evening wear of her choice. Typically, full-length evening gowns are worn for this phase.

Onstage Question (5%):

Each contestant will be asked two questions on stage, one having to do with their platform, and the other having to do with their fact sheet.

These competitions will select the Top Five.  The Top Five Finalists enter the final round of competition with zero points.  The judges will then rank the contestants in the order they individually believe the contestants should finish on a Final Ballot.

Each judge will rank the Top Five contestants on a Final Ballot.  A first place vote is worth ten points, a second place vote is worth five points, a third place vote is worth three points, a fourth place vote is worth two points and a fifth place vote is worth one pointThe total of the Final Ballots alone will determine the outcome of the pageant.  The high and low scores on the Final Ballot will NOT be dropped.  All judges’ votes count on the Final Ballot.
